In the news agency 'LIGA Business Inform' there was a round table 'Audit in Ukraine: development and regulation.' Independent audit services market needs to be reformed. 'Strategy of development of audit in the Ukraine for 2012-2013 years' has to increase the value of the audit profession and to establish the order in the area, its project was presented for discussion by the Audit Chamber of Ukraine.
According to Deputy Chairman of the Audit Chamber of Ukraine Olexiy Hachkivsky, this year's activity of ACU will be concentrated on preparation of regulations that governed in the future audit activity. 'Next year will be devoted for practicing the changes that we plan to do' - he said.
Oleksandr Boiko, deputy chairman of the Audit Chamber, said that the value of audit profession in Ukraine today is underestimated. Unlike other countries, local auditors do not perform their proper functions as a result of insufficient regulation of the market. 'Audit Chamber for the first time offers a development strategy. The current membership of ACU intends to provide a positive transformation of the market and encourages all members of the profession included in this process. All members of the Audit Chamber are opened for the dialogue and wait for suggestions from representatives of professional community ', - he stressed.
Round table participants also discussed amendments to the Law of Ukraine 'On audit activity' which were proposed by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine. According to the professional community, this draft needs significant revision.
