In the frame of the Days of Latvia in Ukraine in Kyiv taken place Ukraine-Latvia business forum
During the event has been held a round table discussion “Cooperation between Ukraine and Latvia in the investment field: opportunities and challenges”. In the event taken part Guntis Ulmanis, former Latvian President, Argita Daudze, Ambassador of Republic of Latvia in Ukraine and Illia Shevliak, Deputy Head of State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine. The round table has started with welcoming speech of Mr Shevliak who noted the importance of Ukrainian-Latvian business relationship.
During the round table the chairman of the Latvian delegation, the representative of the Latvian Technological Center Ints Viksna held a presentation of Enterprise Europe - Latvia
He has told about the mechanism which is used by European companies to enter foreign markets, search investors, partners and suppliers abroad.
According to Olga Chernina, the Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Fund for Entrepreneurship Support, the coordinator of the consortium EEN-Ukraine, currently, Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) is the largest European network for business support. For example, on one application form, placed in the EEN network in Ukraine during the first week online, speak highly from one to five of companies from abroad, showing interest to cooperation.

Ukrainian side has presented the investment potential of the Kiev region. As a speaker has been Vadym Koverda, Director of the Kyiv Regional Center for Investment and Development.
At the end of official part the numerous business representatives from Latvia and Ukraine have had the opportunity to discuss the specifics of investment relations between two countries. Participants of the event have been convinced in the necessity of further partnerships between Latvian and Ukrainian companies, cooperation between business, administrative authorities, international organizations and foundations.
“On the eve of the Eastern Partnership Summit the strengthening of business relations between Ukraine and Latvia have particular relevance. Today we as a members of the international association of accountants and consultants PrimeGlobal, starting partnerships with foreign business. Latvian companies are open to dialogue. This is a great start for the close and productive cooperation”, – said the President of " De Visu" Group Oleksandr Boiko.
