New membership of Public Council at the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine was elected by means of preferential voting on constituent assembly. The Council consists of 35 members − representatives of civil society institutions, including Oleksandr Boiko, the head of “DeVisu” Group.
Public Council faces demanding challenges today. The Council is aimed at execution of public control of activities of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and assistance to the agency in taking into account of public opinion in forming and implementation of State financial policy.
It is important that members of Public Council are able to receive from the Ministry of Finance laws and regulations projects, which require public consultation, and to process them in working bodies − committees, commissions, expert groups, etc., involving representatives of executive authorities, companies, institutions and organizations, domestic and international expert and scientific organizations and even individual experts.
New Public Council has necessary authority, resources, and levers of influence as well as readiness to deliver benefits to the society. Therefore, it could be an active assistant in work of the Ministry of Finance.
“Systemic reforms currently continue in our country. Changes that are in process will concern all spheres of our lives. Also this reforming process would not pass over audit market.
